Harold’s Spirit Lives on at the Metairie & New Orleans Parade
Parade season in New Orleans and Metairie has always been about more than just beads and throws—it’s about family, tradition, and the joy of being together. This year, as we celebrated, something was missing. Or rather, someone—Harold Molaison, my father-in-law, who passed in 2023.
Harold loved spending time with his family. He was always there with us at Thoth, soaking in the energy, smiling at the kids, and making sure the kids never missed a beat. He had a way of making every moment feel special, reminding us that Carnival season isn’t just about the show—it’s about the people you share it with.
This year, we brought Harold the Goose, our new mascot, to the parade, and in many ways, it felt like Harold was right there with us. The kids laughed, the families cheered, and for a moment, it was as if his spirit was watching over us, enjoying every second.
We miss him so much, but we know he would be proud.
Until next year, Harold. We’ll save you a spot. 💜💚💛
